Coming Soon...

Panama is Felipe's home country and is one of Rachael's favorite places to visit. For those of you coming in for the ceremony, there is SO MUCH to do it will be hard to choose! We've listed some of the major things you'll definitely want to hit, as well as some of our personal favorites from our time there.

Tour the Panama Canal

You can't go to Panama without seeing the canal! There is a museum you can tour and you can actually watch ships go through, which is awesome. If you're feeling really crazy, you can actually take a dinner cruise on a ship going through the canal! For more information, look here.

Walk through Casco Viejo (Old City)

Casco Viejo is one of our favorite parts of the city. It has simply gorgeous buildings, ocean breezes, incredible views, and a hopping nightlife. It was also featured in the James Bond Quantum of Solace movie. It's a must see for both day and night!

Visit the Amador Causeway

The causeway unites three small islands and is a great place to ride down, walk, or rent one of the 1-6 seater bycicles available for a senic trip through open air restaurants, souvineer shops, and duty free shopping. Bicycles are available to rent for $5-10 an hour, depending on the number of seats!

Take a Boat Tour

There are tours available that offer a variety of things, including but not limited to views of tha canal, rainforest animals, canoes, waterholes, kayaks, fishing, and more. Basically, you should definitely try to take one. On Rachael's first visit to Panama, a monkey literally jumped on the boat to steal her bananas! Look here for more information.

Visit Mi Pueblito

We LOVE Mi Pueblito. It translates "My little Village" and has three replicas of traditional peasant, Afro-Caribbean, and Indian cultures.

Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 9:00am - 6:00pm

Gamble in one of the Casinos

Over 7 million dollars are gambled EACH DAY at Panama City's casinos. There are many to choose from, and they are a blast. Some of them also offer free beverages for guests! (Last we checked, the Hotel Panama Fiesta Casino was one of them).

Visit the Soberanía National Park

Panama is the only place in the world with such easy access to a rainforest! Visit the Soberanía National Park to feel like you've been transported deep into the jungle, while actually being less than 40 minutes from Panama City!)

Visit one of the local beaches

There are several beaches reachable for day trips from Panama City, including San Blas, Playa Blanca, and Coronado. If you head to playa Blanca, you MUST stop at Quesas Chela and get a empanada de queso (cheese empanada). They are out of this world delicious!

Visit Boquete, Chiriquí

Boquete is a phenominal little town in the province of Chiriquí oursite of Panama City. It's about 6 hours out of the city so it would be best done as an overnight trip, but we went during our last trip to Panama and found it to be one of the most naturally beautiful places we've ever seen. The town itself has great culture and the surrounding mountainous areas are truly stunning!
